"2050" Starring Dean Cain Wraps Production

Jan. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- New York-based production company Butterfly Chasers LLC completed principle photography on the feature film "2050." Production took place mostly in New York City, with some additional photography taking place in New Jersey.

"2050" tells the story of a discontent, married father of two who is introduced to a warehouse that customizes androids for human companionship. Dean Cain (Lois and Clark, God's Not Dead, Out of Time) plays the role of Maxwell, the mastermind behind the entire operation. Along with Cain, the film stars a strong ensemble of actors including David Vaughn, Irina Abraham, Devin Fuller, Stefanie Bloom, Stormi Maya, Jace Nicole, Shannone Holt, Hope Blackstock, and many more.

The sci-fi drama was produced by a team of frequent collaborators and friends that in addition to sharing producing duties, wore additional hats; David Vaughn was also a lead actor, Brian Ackley was also the writer, Chris Riquinha was also a supporting actor, and Princeton Holt also directed. Having moved on from production to enjoy his new job in the distribution side of the business, "2050" is Holt's third and final feature film as director.

"This was the single greatest learning experience of my filmmaking career, "says the LA-based David Vaughn. "I couldn't have asked for a better producing partner in Princeton, or a better scene partner and teacher in Dean."

Holt expressed both relief and gratitude on finally wrapping the production. "We had an unusually supportive group of investors who not only surrounded us with the best legal and business resources to make the best film that we could, but they also guided us strategically along the way on exactly how to pull it all off," Holt reflected. "In many ways, this is as much for them as it is for the rest of us."

As announced by Deadline last winter, the domestic distribution of "2050" is being handled by ANERKE, who is launching the theatrical and VOD release of the film later this year after its film festival run. Additionally, negotiations with other companies for the film's broadcast, home video and foreign rights have already begun.

"2050" is on track to complete post-production by early March 2018.
