The Tennis Alliance vast network of volunteers and this new Board Leadership will bring even more volunteer time, treasure, and talent to our organization and will increase representation of many different parts of our Anne Arundel County Tennis Community," said Louise Gengler Thomas, a founding member of the Tennis Alliance who will continue to serve as President. "New Board members consistently reinvigorate the mission of an organization. As we continue to build momentum with the Millersville Park Tennis Center design and build and expand community programming and outreach, a strong board is necessary to set the Tennis Alliance's strategic direction moving forward. I'm delighted that our new board members recognize the potential of our organization and, along with our current board, are committed to fulfill our mission," said Executive Director Heather East. The expanded Board is the result of a recent "call for nominations" The planned expansion of the Board of Directors coincides with the achievement of major milestones in the joint efforts of Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation & Parks and the Tennis Alliance to develop a new indoor/outdoor tennis center for the County.
