About the Author – Kirby Larson

Larson has a passion for historical fiction as evidenced by her Newbery Honor award-winning book, Hattie Big Sky and its sequel, Hattie Ever After (both Delacorte), as well as the WWII dog series for Scholastic which includes Duke, and Dash, winner of the Scott O'Dell Historical Fiction Prize, Liberty and the forthcoming, Code Word Courage (April 2018). Audacity Jones Steals the Show (Scholastic), was released in January 2017 and is the sequel to Audacity Jones to the Rescue. With Mary Nethery, Kirby has co-authored two award-winning nonfiction picture books: the ASPCA Henry Bergh Award winner Two Bobbies: A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship and Survival, and the New York Times bestselling Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine and a Miracle.
