NIFT 2018- a Brief Analysis of The Exam Held on 21st January 2018

KOLKATA, India - Feb. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- On January 21, 2018, the much-awaited entrance exam of NIFT was held across 32 centers in India. This 3-hour exam in written format was undertaken by thousands of fashion and design aspirants for pursuing different disciplines in Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology. General Aptitude Test (GAT) for both B.Des and B.F.Tech and Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) for B.Des were held on the same date.

According to a study conducted at The Opus Way, a leading design and fashion entrance coaching institute, the tasks mentioned in CAT were pretty much doable and did not require a creative genius to answer them. Anybody who has practiced quality NIFT (http://www.theopusway.com/nift-preparation) tutorials is fast at making sketches, and has a vivid imagination, will score well in NIFT, though some students have complained that this year the CAT demanded more complex creative input as compared to previous years. Nevertheless, it was a good experience gained by the students there who had spent months practicing high-quality NIFT tutorials offered to them by The Opus Way. Since NIFT 2018 had a moderate level of difficulty, the cutoff marks are expected to be in similar lines as that of NIFT 2017.

Some questions were presented to gauge the personality and psychology of the aspirants. In the GAT section, there was no new question pattern to surprise the aspirants. So, although the GAT had somewhat lengthy questions, it has not affected the students of The Opus Way much. NIFT GAT fell on the line of expectations of the average NIFT taker.

The Road Ahead

Successful aspirants will face another elimination round in the form of situation test, group discussion, and personal interview. The result of the written examination held on 21st January is likely to be declared by the end of February, if not definitely by March. By early June, the final merit list for the session of 2018-2019 will be declared.  In order to get through this difficult stage, one must have a well-devised NIFT preparation strategy.
