Follow on Google News | The Hues Company Hosts the Hues Celebrity Gifting Experience for 2nd Annual Power of Influence AwKevin Hart, Pras, and the Mayor of Minneapolis Round out Celebrity Guest List
By: The Hues Company The afternoon brunch on Super Bowl Sunday maximized exposure for small businesses who often find it difficult to compete with large corporations, in larger markets, and with larger marketing budgets. "Many of the celebs in town for the Super Bowl haven't spent much time in Minneapolis before," explained co-founder Dr. Jasmine L. Harris. "It's so hard for small businesses to compete with major brand marketing budgets even when the products are higher quality. We are trying to bridge the gap between brand exposure and financial resources." Attendees included recently elected Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, Fugees member, Pras, who later debuted his new venture Blacture via Super Bowl commercial, actor, singer, songwriter Barachi who performed a stellar Prince tribute during the awards show, rapper Zoey Dollaz, and BET Head of Programming, Connie Orlando. "There was so much happening Super Bowl weekend, so we wanted to create a relaxed, but engaging experience," Leigh Kingvalsky, reigning Miss Black US Ambassador, served as guest host, interviewing celebs as they began the gifting experience. "We've had a great relationship with the Miss Black US Ambassador pageant since my reign as Miss Black Minnesota Ambassador," The event experience included a bloody mary bar and signature cocktail featuring liquor from DuNord Distillery, coffee tasting from Tiny Footprint Coffee, and cookie making from Thumb Cookies. Products from K. Joseph Watches, Namakan Fur, Ruva Africa, Eye Candy Cosmetics, House Party the Game, Gifted and Lit videos, Mademoiselle Miel Chocolates, and Dude Products were all gifted to celebs throughout the afternoon. "We loved introducing celebs in town for the game to new companies they'd never heard of before," gushed co-founder, Robin G. Harris. "Our goal is always to help small businesses shine, and we accomplished that on Sunday."
