RSM's Sara Lord appointed to AICPA Auditing Standards Board

MINNEAPOLIS - Feb. 14, 2018 - PRLog -- RSM US LLP ("RSM") – the nation's leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Sara Lord, RSM's national director of audit, was recently appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Auditing Standards Board (ASB). The ASB is the AICPA's senior committee for auditing, attestation and quality control standards applicable to the performance and issuance of audit and attestation reports for non-issuers.

"Sara is deeply grounded in professional standards, and consistently thinks about how new standards impact our clients and our auditors," said Joel Shamon, RSM's national audit leader. "Her relevant audit experience, coupled with her extensive contributions to the profession, make her an excellent choice for the ASB, and we're proud that she has been chosen for this important role."

Lord has 20 years of experience with public company and private company auditing and accounting technical issues. She joined RSM's National Professional Standards Group as a partner in 2012, after working for a Big Four accounting firm in a variety of roles, including audit client service, national office consultation and global office public policy and a regional firm in audit client service and consultation roles. In her current role at RSM, Lord is responsible for audit and attest policies, procedures, tools, guidance and training.

An active member of the profession, Lord has served on various standard-setting bodies, and other technical committees and organizations. She currently serves on the Center for Audit Quality Professional Practice Executive Committee and the AICPA Quality Control Standards Task Force.
