By: EARN According to the Arizona Department of Revenue, QFCO status is only granted to organizations that demonstrate they provide assistance such as "medical care, child care, food, clothing, shelter, job placement and job training services or any other assistance that is reasonably necessary to meet immediate basic needs." As it is now an official QFCO, any donations to E.A.R.N. before April 15, 2018 will receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction on their 2017 Arizona state taxes of up to $500 for single filers and $1,000 for couples. These tax credits can also be applied to money owed on taxpayers' federal filings, resulting in increased tax benefits for those who donate to the organizations Aging Out Assistance initiative. E.A.R.N. (Educational Assistance Resources Network) was founded in 2012 with a mission of "building stronger communities, one life-challenged student at a time." The organization provides education assistance (tuition and associated support costs) to deserving, low-income adults and teens (many homeless/abused or fighting addictions) that are committed in their efforts to better their lives and their communities. They work to ensure that these "at-risk" individuals are able to continue and complete their education needs as they overcome their current personal and economic adversities by providing additional resources such as computers, internet access, transportation, tutoring, and childcare.
