Ending Child Trafficking, Passing Bill A-6823B (https://www.thesetnyc.com/billa6823)

Please help contact your NY Assembly person!   CAUSE:

Human trafficking devastates the lives of children/ individuals and children are an easy target due to their vunerabilty and high demand for sex buyers.   New York State laws currently require cases to prove coercion;  which means New York State requires child victims of trafficking to testify in court against their traffickers, which can be traumatic and humiliating.     This coercion require makes it difficult for prosecutors to build successful cases against child traffickers, therefore child traffickers go free and continue to spread destructive habits against society.

A6823B also adds an affirmative defense for children 19 years of age and under,  who may be victims of traffickers including them in their schemes of sexual exploitation of other children for profit.

For the reasons above,   The Set International , LLC strongly support Bill A 6823B  sponsored by Paulin and urges passage of this bill by the Legislature before the conclusion of the 2018 session
