The ON! Channel Launches New "Saturday Night Movie" Season with All Star Film

NEW YORK - March 8, 2018 - PRLog -- Perceptions, the award winning film starring Malinda Williams (Soul Food), Alimi Ballard (Queen Sugar), Charles Malik Whitfield (Tyler Perry's If loving You Is Wrong) and Omarr Salgado (Two days in Harlem), launches the new season of ON!'s Saturday Night Movie.

The Saturday Night Movie has been one of ON!'s most popular viewing blacks.  Coming off a highly rated last season, ON! has added several high profile films to the schedule which starts with Perceptions.

The film tells the story of a couple that gets caught in the middle of a crossfire between masked men arguing between justice and "tradition."


Perceptionis a short film that takes a raw and honest look into the heartbeat of our society's ongoing battle between law enforcement and in large part, black America.   As opposed to simply regurgitating more statistics and charts, the creators of Perception felt it their duty and obligation to bring a very uncomfortable light to such a dark sore in our culture. Perception doesn't just highlight the problem, this film looks to spark conversation, action and change. Yes, art imitates life, but Perception looks to use this art to influence a new direction.

Perceptions is directed by Charles Jones, written by Chad Quinn, produced by Dale Stelly, DoP Dana Rice  and is  featuring Charles Malik Whitfield, Malinda Williams, Omarr Salgado, Vida Guerra, Fernando Chien, Alimi Ballard, Wendy Davis, Terrell Tilford, Edward Fordham, CIsco Reyes and Nelcie Souffrant.
