Follow on Google News | Senior living community to hold creative contest using marshmallow PeepsCandle Light Cove to host inaugural Beak Week contest in Easton
By: IntegraCare The senior living community in Easton encourages people of all ages from the local area, businesses, school classrooms and other groups and organizations to enter the contest. Entrants will have their work displayed during Beak Week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 12 to 19 at Candle Light Cove. The Beak Week Peep Show Finale will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 20. Winners will be announced then. The community is encouraged to come and view all of the creative submissions, and enjoy some refreshments that feature Peeps, such as Peep Smores, as well as a signature Peep cocktail. "We have received some very interesting and creative displays and expect more to arrive," said Cissy Nickel, Executive Director of Candle Light Cove. "The concept is really fun. People use the familiar yellow or blue Peeps, usually chicks or bunnies, and incorporate them into a 'real-world- Candle Light Cove received a football-themed "Fly Peeps Fly" design which paid tribute to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles' rallying cry, "Fly Eagles Fly." Another display was titled Mary Peepkins as a nod to the Disney classic Mary Poppins. Candle Light Cove residents were constructing a bus with the senior living center's name and logo on the side. Then, several of them made Peeps in their likeness to be added as riders and the bus driver. "People really come up with some neat concepts." Nickel said. "We saw photographs of a Wheel of Fortune set with Peeps as contestants and the host Pat Sajak and Vanna White.
