HOUSTON - March 15, 2018 - PRLog -- John D. Tucker (Dr. Teeth), music video and film director/producer, just announced his comedy short PAS HONTEUX is hitting the film festival circuit, and its acceptance into the 2018 Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. Tucker brings together his passion for music and for French New Wave cinema in this new film. Immensely inspired by the work of Charles Burnett's Italiano Neorealism-influenced "Killer of Sheep", Jean-Luc Godard & Françios Truffaut's French New Wave techniques and modern hip-hop culture, PAS HONTEUX tells a truly unique story. La Nouvelle Vague's use of New Wave techniques was a passion for Tucker during the making of the film.https://vimeo.com/240309418

Tucker previously won an NAACP Image Award for his work a segment Producer for The BET Networks children's television program called TEEN SUMMIT. He has been nominated for MTV's VMA Awards in the Viewer's Choice category for the music video STILL TIPPIN" by Mike Jones. Other nominations include BET's Hip Hop Awards Director of the Year, OZONE Magazine Awards nomination for Director of the Year for the video HIP HOP SAVED MY LIFE by Lupe Fiasco, and BET Hip Hop Awards Best Video of the Year nomination for ICE CREAM PAINT JOB.

PAS HONTEUX is the story of a young African American slacker that wakes up one day speaking French. The film brings to light the fact that we not only judge people by their looks but also by the way they speak. So, what if a young urban African American suddenly speaks French? The film must be seen to be believed. It jumps from modern hip-hop inspired visuals to sharp contrast new wave bringing new meaning to both styles of filmmaking. Tucker's deliciously farcical, humorous, and thought-provoking PAS HONTEUX will begin screening at festivals across the country throughout the year.

The film stars Travis LaBranch (SHOTS FIRED), Leon Lamar (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, American Made), and Javicia Leslie (MacGyver, Killer Coach), is written by Sundance Alum Marcus J. Guillory (The Breaks, Tales) and directed by John D. Tucker.

John D. Tucker is responsible for bringing Houston based rappers Mike Jones, Slim Thug, & Paul Wall to the world with his street images. He is highly sought out by some of the top artist and record labels for his visual insight and a much-heralded knack for bringing to life surreal images. John is available for interviews on request.
