National Pitmasters Bring Smoked And Fired Foods To Coeur D'alene This SummerDelicious food and nationally-known culinary talents will converge on Settlers Creek this summer.
By: Framework Meetings and Destinations Located just 5 minutes northwest of downtown Coeur d'Alene, Settlers Creek is an event venue known for their BIG flavors and foods which they smoke and cook on their BIG custom-built equipment. "The cooking equipment at Settlers Creek is really remarkable," Area culinarians will lead an "Application Station", where guests can discover other ways to put these primal cuts of fired foods to work in their home menu planning. "People really love smoked meats and everything cooked over fire," Bill Hilbish, Executive Chef at Settlers Creek shares. "We want to give them the vision that even those big cuts of meat can be used in a wide variety of meals to take family left-overs to the next level of flavor." Event sponsors for the From the Ashes event this summer include Idaho Tourism and Idaho Preferred. National food writers will be traveling to Coeur d'Alene to experience the area, tour producers' farms and facilities, and to showcase the event to their food and travel readers. Regional craft beers and wines, as well as fun family activities and entertainment, will be featured throughout the day on Saturday July 14th, with the event beginning at 11:00am and concluding at 8:00pm. Tickets are available on EventBrite.com, and are $29.00 per adult ticket with drink tasting included, $25.00 per ticket for 13 years and up without a drink tasting component, and $15.00 per youth ticket for ages 5-12 years old. From the Ashes will welcome families making the most of their summer weekend time, so a family package of 2 adult and 2 youth tickets is available for $83.00, a $5.00 discount. Proceeds benefit the Kootenai Humane Society to support their needs for medicine and care for their animal rescue efforts nationwide.
