New Ballast-Check 2 Data Reporting

SAN JOSE, Calif. - March 23, 2018 - PRLog -- Turner Designs recently developed new data reporting software which ensures data integrity as requested by Saudi Aramco.  The new software writes Ballast-Check™ 2 results directly to a PDF report which cannot be altered.  Saudi Aramco is now able to ramp up their use of indicative compliance tools for collecting data from arriving ships. This data reporting software is included with all new Ballast-Check 2s and is available as a download for previously purchased units.

Ballast-Check 2 evaluates RISK of non-compliance for the D2 regulation using estimates of cell counts and cell viability as independent parameters during ballast water analysis.  This evaluation method has been repeatedly proven to give accurate risk assessments for all treatment types, including UV.

Ballast-Check 2 is a small, lightweight, highly durable handheld fluorometer ideal for quick indicative compliance checks of ballast water. Factory-set, Ballast-Check 2 is ready for use right out of the box, no calibration necessary. Extremely simple one-button measurements display estimates in less than 1 minute of both algal abundance and algal activity, providing ship crew or port state control with an indication of risk for exceedance of the regulation.
