MIFON App Catches Uber driver Red-Handed

RAFFLES PLACE, Singapore - April 2, 2018 - PRLog -- A smart lady in India's busy business city of Gurugram outsmarted & caught an Uber driver red-handed trying to steal her phone, using a mobile security app. The app, called MIFON, which captured pictures of the errant Uber driver & silently emailed it to her, compelling the Uber driver to admit that he has her phone.

Ashmita Mandal, an executive in an education services company, realized after reaching home that her mobile phone was missing. Thinking she must have left her phone behind in the Uber car she used to come home, she managed to reach out to the driver, using the 'left an item' service in Uber website. But the driver told her that he has not found her phone in the car. She got worried. What if it is stolen and her online credentials get misused or her private messages get compromised? Suddenly on her laptop, she got a couple of emails with the subject "miALERTS MIFON THIEFIE" and when she opened it, she saw they were photos & location map of the same Uber driver. She thanked her stars, that she had installed an anti-theft security app, MIFON, only couple of months back. She called him again and told him that she has full evidence of him having her phone. Out of Sheer fear, the Uber driver admitted to his fault & agreed to return her phone, requesting her ‘not to make’ a complaint to Uber or the Police.
