Monsters Meet Metal at the 2018 Carlisle Truck Nationals

CARLISLE, Pa. - April 11, 2018 - PRLog -- Total destruction; that's what's planned over the span of three days at the Carlisle Truck Nationals, presented by A&A Auto Stores.  In 2018, Monster Truck action brings car crushing thrills to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds during the event, running August 3-5.  A dozen or so cars will give their lives to a pair of monster trucks slated to appear.  While that's great for the guests on-site, it's bad news for these sacrificial compacts!  Speaking of bad news, that's the name of one of the trucks.  Bad News (the truck) will be joined by Samson and each are coming to Carlisle for the first time ever!

Monster truck shows take place Friday, twice Saturday and once more Sunday.  Hosted by Diehl Wilson, owner of the on-site Virginia Giant ride truck, Bad News and Samson will square off to the delight of enthusiasts of all ages.  Since year one of the truck show in 1991, trucks have been THE form of entertainment and with these monster truck shows, event excitement is taken to a whole new level.  But, who exactly are Bad News and Samson?

Bad News:  Bad News broke in to the Monster Truck circuit in 2004 as Bruce Henry retired Excaliber and took his BAD News Truck to great success on the Monster Jam Tour.  Brandon Derrow took responsibility and ownership of BAD NEWS in 2015, when he positioned it among 16 trucks to compete in the first-event Monster JAM/FS1 Championship Series.

Samson: Monster Jam competitor Samson has roots dating back to 1980 when Samson I was designed and built by Don Maples.  Dan Patrick, Monster Truck Hall of Famer and developer of the Patrick Chassis, took the helm of Samson in 1988. His legacy and PEI ownership and competition under PEI ownership continues today.

Virginia Giant Ride Truck:  As mentioned above, this truck is owned by former Monster Jam regular Diehl Wilson.  It's cool because it's interactive.  It's interactive because guests can climb aboard the iconic truck and go for a heart pounding, car crushing, no holds barred edge of their seat ride.  Ride, crush, enjoy and repeat!

Additional fun features include FMX Motocross stunt jumpers, the Phantom Fun Zone and a Timber sports show (more to come on this in a separate release).  This fun, combined with the monster truck action will wow all in attendance and make the 2018 Carlisle Truck Nationals an event that guests will be talking about for years to come.
