By: Thiel College Members of Greenville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3374 conducted the 21-gun salute honoring military service members in the flag courtyard outside of Roth Memorial Hall on the Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/) The Xi-Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Sigma's Military Heroes Appreciation Week also includes other events. Donations and the public are welcome at all events. • The Xi-Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Sigma will host a military movie night from 8-10 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in Bly Hall at the Academic Center. • Chapter brother Sergeant Dustin Slomainy '18 and campus public safety captain Tom Jones will speak about their experiences as members of the U.S. Army at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 in Stamm Lecture Hall of the James Pedas Communication Center. In the fall of 2016, Slomainy left for Kuwait for his third deployment with the U.S. Army Reserves. • Kappa Sigma members invite the campus community to participate in a dodgeball tournament held at Beeghly Gymnasium at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12. About Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign Kappa Sigma established A Greater Cause Foundation to support the charitable endeavors of the undergraduate chapters of the fraternity. The foundation's principal program is the Military Heroes Campaign. Created in 2007, the campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated nearly $500,000 to non-profit organizations who advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.
