The Bear Creek School's Performing Arts Department Presents Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"

REDMOND, Wash. - April 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Bear Creek's Upper School performing arts students are proud to present Disney's Beauty and the Beast in our new Performing Arts Center on April 20, 21, and 28, 2018.

As a preschool – grade 12 school, Bear Creek is excited about this family-friendly production. This well-loved tale echoes the greatest story of all...the story of God's redemptive love for us. Throughout history, people have been drawn to the story of Beauty and the Beast, a "tale as old as time" written almost 300 years ago by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve. It is easy to connect with the humanity of the castle objects. Whether it be the motherly warmth of Mrs. Potts, the wonder of Chip, or the fiery passion of Lumiere, each character embodies the human condition in a way that we can understand.

At Bear Creek, the arts are taught as part of the regular school curriculum (not extra-curricular), so almost all rehearsals occur during the school day. This means patience has been required as the pieces have slowly come together in 50-minute class periods rather than lengthy after school rehearsals. Show producer and vocal director Joel Visker notes that, "because we're producing Beauty and the Beast in an educational setting, it's not just about the leads. We have made a concerted effort to try to feature every one of the performers. We really want to feature the full cast as much as we can, so we have even expanded some numbers that might have been a small solo to incorporate the whole cast in some way."

We hope you will be our guest and join our cast, orchestra, and tech crew of more than 80 high school students as they share with you this lively, colorful, and enchanting musical.
