"Art Throwdown" fundraiser starring the teaching artists of The Center for Contemporary Art

BEDMINSTER, N.J. - April 13, 2018 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art ("The Center") is excited to announce an "Art Throwdown" afternoon fundraiser full of fun, food, and art-making starring The Center's teaching artists on Sunday, April 29 from 3-5 p.m.

Teachers participating include Oscar Beck (drawing), Charlie Churchill (acrylic painting), Andrea Gianchiglia (oil painting), Gary Godbee (oil painting), Wendy Hallstrom (watercolor painting), Michael McFadden (oil painting and collage), Lori Pearson (ceramics), Oscar Peterson (drawing and oil painting), Wes Sherman (acrylic painting), Lena Shiffman (drawing and watercolor painting), Glenn Whitmore (cartooning) and Steven Yavorski (drawing).

What's a throwdown? Each artist will create a work of art on the spot using materials and supplies provided by The Center. The catch? They must also incorporate, literally or figuratively, items inside a "mystery box" and have only one hour to complete their artwork.

While the artists are busy creating, guests will enjoy delicious food provided by Metropolitan Seafood. They will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorites and participate in the "Art Throwdown" raffle for the chance to go home with one of the original artworks.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $25 each and can be purchased in advance online at wwww.ccabedminster.org or at the door the day of the event.
