By: Fair Lawn Relay for Life · Sun., May 6 –Cut-a-thon at Bellezza Salon & Spa, 877 Prospect Avenue in Glen Rock, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., sponsored by the Fair Lawn High School Interact Club. · Wed., May 9 – Give-back day at Panera Bakery & Café, 23-02 Fair Lawn Avenue in Fair Lawn from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., sponsored by the Glen Rock High School Relay team. · Mon., May 14 – Give-back day at Blue Moon Mexican Café, 327 Franklin Avenue in Wyckoff, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., sponsored by the Glen Rock High School Relay team. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all sales that day, including delivery, catering and takeout, with presentation of the event flyer, which is available on the Fair Lawn Relay for Life Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ · Fri.-Sun, May 18-20 – Glen Rock community garage sale sponsored by the Glen Rock Middle School Relay for Life team at 484 Ackerman Avenue, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. Baked goods and refreshments will also be sold. Area residents are welcome to donate items for the sale; community donations will be accepted May 15, 16 and 17 at the location; contact babster16@msn.com with questions. · Mon., May 21 – Scoop night at Ben & Jerrys, 104 Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., sponsored by the Glen Rock High School Relay team. · Wed., May 30 – Come to Habit Burger in Fair Lawn at 3101 Promenade Boulevard for a give-back day from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.; 20 percent of all sales will go the Glen Rock High School and Middle School teams. You must present a printout of the flyer when you order or present the image on a smartphone for the purchase to qualify. A complete list of all fundraising events to benefit the Fair Lawn Relay for Life is on the committee's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ In addition, there is an online Cards for a Cause greeting card fundraiser through April 30. Individuals can purchase boxes of 30 greeting cards for $30; $13 of each sale will be applied directly to Fair Lawn Relay. The Fair Lawn Relay for Life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., June 9-10 at the Dobrow Sports Complex on Harristown Road. Individuals, families and local companies are encouraged to form teams to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. During Relay, team members take turns walking around a track continuously to signify that cancer never sleeps. Teams also set up themed campsites and continue fundraising by collecting donations during the event and through the end of August. There will be entertainment, a tricky tray, games and activities during Relay, which is staffed and coordinated by volunteers from the community.
