LOS ANGELES - April 23, 2018 - PRLog -- Yolonda Brinkley, creator of Beyond Borders: Diversity in Cannes, is pleased to announce official selections for 2018 Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase; an independent filmmaker initiative promoting globally diverse filmmakers sharing stories specific to underrepresented populations at the 71st Festival de Cannes.

Presented by Publicist and Event Producer, Yolonda Brinkley, with support from Julius Tennon and Actress Viola Davis' JuVee Productions and AJUUA Entertainment the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase will present 18 films in competition.

The general showcase will celebrate the work of talented filmmakers who give life to globally diverse characters, with stories that transcend boundaries.

The Women in Formation Showcase, will give special distinction to female filmmakers or those depicting honest images of the feminine voice in film.

Hand selected by an international screening committee of entertainment industry professionals, the films will screen at an independent event in France concurrent with the 71st Festival de Cannes. Final winners will be selected onsite by an esteemed jury and announced at an awards reception following the showcase.
