Drug Abuse Treatment in Frederick, Maryland Acquiring Funds

FREDERICK, Md. - April 23, 2018 - PRLog -- A drug abuse treatment program in Frederick is going to be aquiring some funding to help combine physical health and substance abuse services.

Physical — or somatic symptom disorder — places the focus on physical symptoms, sharp pain which can cause emotional trauma.

Somatic symptom disorder can be painful and also cause a patient shortness of breath. Somatic disorder can cause patients to become extremely paranoid in relation to fears of illness, causing them to seek a health care provider more than they need to.

Somatic care tries to fix the physical ailments and the mental disorders. The Wells House places somatic care as of their main focuses. Wells House is a substance abuse treatment provider that gives evidence-based programs.

The Wells House was recently given $103,615 by the Community Health Resources Commission to use at both locations.

Wells House has a vision to encourage actions that promote the healing of patients with drug abuse disorders, create strategies to fight drug and alcohol abuse addiction and collaborate with the human service community to ensure inexpensive care.

Maryland has formulated a Health Home Model — a clinical method which delivers organized care to patients with several health conditions, both physical and mental, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services.

Christina Trenton, the chief operating officer of Wells House, stated that 75 percent of her patients come in with complaints of physical pain along with the drug abuse disorders they already have.

Trenton added that her goal is to make sure that every person that arrives at Wells House gets a physical exam so her team can make an accurate assesment of the patient's needs.
