Follow on Google News | epiphany glass studio Spring ShowGlass artist April Wagner and her team at epiphany glass studio will open their doors to the public for hourly glassblowing workshops and discounts on one-of-a-kind glass artwork, elegant wine decanters, colorful paperweights and more.
The glassblowing workshops are a hands-on experience like no other. Participants may choose their own glass colors before working with one of the professional studio artists to create a vibrantly-colored, pulled-glass flower in front of the 2400-degree epiphany glass studio furnaces. Adults and children (age six and up) will use various hand tools and age-old techniques to create a unique flower of their own while learning about the creation of glass art and the many beautiful forms it can take. Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes are recommended. The workshops will only be offered a few times per year and space is limited, so registration in advance is recommended. Visit the website at www.epiphanyglass.com and click on "Store," followed by the "Workshops" tab. The workshops will be held on the hour during the Spring Show and cost $55 per person. Marking the third year in partnership with the Michigan Humane Society, epiphany glass proudly offers a line of handcrafted, pet-themed pieces that are both fun and functional. The functional items include contemporary, glass dog bowls and paw-print embellished wine glasses, as well as cozy, curled cat figurines and dogs in a rainbow of shades. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Michigan Humane Society in their mission to serve the tens of thousands of animals in their care each year. The items range from $25 to $150, making them ideal gift items for the pets, or pet lovers, in your life. "We are truly grateful for April and her selection of the Michigan Humane Society as a beneficiary of her studio's proceeds, but her impact doesn't stop there," said Matthew Pepper, president and CEO of MHS. "Her figurines, food bowls, and other pet-themed products are so beautiful that they spark great conversations, and these create new supporters for whom we are also thankful."
