Ozark Mountain Alcohol Residential Treatment (OMART) is an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center located in Gassville, within Baxter County. Baxter County had 28 drug-related overdose deaths, according to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Program. OMART is the only drug and alcohol rehab center in Gassville, according to a report by the 2017 National Directory of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Treatment Facilities. The report also indicated that there are three facilities in Baxter County with Mountain Home being the only two. The inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center had nearly closed as they lost their contract to deliver treatment services and only accepted people who could pay. Now they have finalized the full transition from a drug treatment for all to a treatment center that primarily focuses on people with substance use disorders out of prison. OMART has teamed with the Arkansas Community Correction (ACC) to make sure that their inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center is good for parolees. The ACC is a group that is in charge of and sets up the direction of parolees after they are released from jail. The agency makes sure that the public safety by affiliating with community partnerships to not only hold parolees accountable but also to help them adjust to the outside. The ACC was originally known as the Department of Community Punishment when it was established in 1993. They have been the number one point of communication for OMART for parolee transfers.
