Dr. Stout Appears on Nationally Ranked Podcast

FULLERTON, Calif. - May 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Dr. Debbie Stout appears this week on the nationally ranked podcast "501(C)3 BS". Dr. Stout was invited to speak about the importance of local collaborative efforts in developing community, dovetailing their mission with more general community benefit, creating collective impact, and using a "high tide to raise all ships" mindset.

The 501(C)(3)(B)(S) podcast, created and hosted by Zoot Velasco in 2017 seeks to highlight truths about the nonprofit industry. Zoot often notes that in nonprofit organizations the 80/20 rule applies. 80% of all funding goes to 20% of the sector. This happens because much of conventional wisdom in the nonprofit industry is false.

"Ever since our early college days", said Dr. Stout, "community service and collaboration have been an important part of our lives and careers. The Orange County non-profit community is unique in that the people and programs are very well connected. My husband, Dr. Dallas Stout, and I have found that there are always great coalitions and networks doing wonderful collaborative work in the community.  At this point we look at our community involvement as a way of staying connected with professional friends & giving back to a community that has given us so much as well as working towards a better tomorrow for everyone".

Dr. Stout is the Executive Director of the Fullerton Collaborative. Founded in 1989, the Fullerton Collaborative is a cooperative of executive directors, educators, activists, community service leaders and volunteers dedicated to building and supporting a healthy cohesive community. As an alliance of non-profit organizations and individuals who enjoy making "good things" happen for the community, we are able to provide community assistance where we are needed most.
