Greene County is currently served by WHS Greene Hospital which is the only hospital in the county. Now, they will partner up with Greenbriar Treatment Center to add inpatient services. Greenbriar Treatment Center, with locations throughout Pennsylvania, has multiple services including addiction recovery, detoxification, inpatient and outpatient services and some halfway houses. They are part of the Washington Health System. The inpatient addiction treatment program will be known as 3C level program and all patients in the area will be accepted but the focus will be placed on Washington and Greene Counties. Erie currently has the closest inpatient addiction treatment facility but it is over 149 miles away. A 3C Program is meant to help those who are in bad need of assistance, such as people who have overdosed multiple times and need around-the-clock care. WHS-Greene's behavioral unit is where the 3C Program will be placed and a press release indicated that $250,000 will be spent on construction and renovations. A combined statement between WHS-Greene and Greenbriar revealed that people will be treated in a supervised setting for 100 days in order to encourage their adjustment to new skills. Mary Banaszak, the CEO at Greenbriar, indicated that she hopes that the inpatient addiction center will open by the end of summer. She highlighted that the contracts are being finalized. She said that 20 new jobs in Greene County will be added as a result of the opening of this center. Karen Bennett, the human services administrator for Greene County, said that the substance abuse treatment center will benefit local people and those beyond the county. https://www.drugaddictionnow.com/ End
