Announcing the 14th Annual Maryland Faerie Festival: Rising with the Phoenix in 2018

DARLINGTON, Md. - May 8, 2018 - PRLog -- The Maryland Faerie Festival is pleased to announce the dates of our 2018 festival. The 14^th annual festival will be held this year on June 9^th from 10am-6pm and on June 10^th from 10am-5pm. The festival is located at beautiful Camp Ramblewood, 2564 Silver Rd. Darlington, MD 21034.

Every year thousands of people pass through our gates and enter an enchanted wonderland full of faeries, goblins, mermaids, elves, dragons, unicorns and more. They come together to celebrate the magic, mischief and music only this festival can provide. This year we are celebrating the Rising of the Phoenix. The Maryland Faerie Festival is a 501c3 charitable organization dedicated to creating an atmosphere inspired by Faerie folklore and literature. We believe in Faeries!

Piper Jones will be appearing at our event.   "If you have ever wondered if the great music, of the bagpipe could ever make you want to dance, this is the man who will prove it to you," said Janet Brown, one of the dedicated volunteers that make the festival possible.  "He and his accompanists will invite you out of your seats to learn the old dances, and you'll be stepping with the abandon that lives in us all waiting for that call. Here's the call.  That joy of music and dance blooms in every Celtic cell of all who carry the genes, and Piper Jones will have it blooming in everyone in hearing distance.   This is a chance for you to hear the pipes played for joy, not just for ceremony."

The festival opens Friday night at 5pm with our special Fire & Drum. Come to Ramblewood to see an amazing show featuring fire spinners, dancers, drummers and, of course, the beautiful bonfire. Saturday night the Fae come out for the SummerFest Masquerade Ball. Dress in your best costumes and join in the festivities with a great concert and dance extravaganza. Revel in the beauty of the night, see the amazing costumes and enjoy the dance! Tickets for just the evening events are available for purchase separately.

If you really want to enjoy the full Faerie Festival experience you can sign up for the Faerie Ring Camping Experience. Stay onsite in a tent or cabin Friday night through Sunday or just Saturday night. Evening events and day admission are included in the camping price for the nights you will be onsite. There is an option to have all your meals provided in our dining room right in camp. Enjoy getting to see "behind the scenes" as you dine with all the performers, vendors and volunteers in our beautiful rustic dining hall.

If you cannot attend all weekend come out for the day. On Saturday and Sunday, the days will be filled with family-friendly activities including storytellers, puppet shows, music, dancing, magic, crafts, the Glamour Glen, food, fine arts, spectacular vendors and fun games.

Maryland Faeries are dedicated to promoting the stewardship of nature and outdoor education. We sponsor faerie artists, merchants and entertainers.  We also provide educational and outreach opportunities for groups whose mission encourages love, cooperation, peace, harmony and respect for all beings.
