Follow on Google News | London IT Company to raise money for children's Cancer wardOn behalf of the Chartwell Cancer Trust's Lily Pad Appeal, Damien Tysoe from SysFix IT Support Ltd will be "jumping out of a plane" to help raise funds to develop a much needed children's Oncology unit at Croydon's University Hospital.
Damien's Story Last year was to say the least, the hardest year for me and my family. Our mum was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer. When I was in the treatment room with her, despite the obvious feelings of worry and despair we all have in these situations, it got me thinking how difficult it must be for children going through something similar. The room was oppressive with the constant sound of groaning machines and relentless beeping. At a networking event early this year I was approached by a gentleman from Chartwell Cancer Trust raising money for Croydon University Hospital Children's Cancer Wing, to make it more suitable and child friendly for those receiving treatment. As a joke I said "now that's a cause worth throwing myself out of a plane for". So here I am about to do just that, to raise money for the much needed children's wing at London's Croydon Hospital. Please help me raise as much money as we can, to give the children of Croydon a sensory, vibrant, relaxing, stress free environment in which to receive much needed care and support. This is such a deserving cause, and will make a big difference to their lives and their families. My Personal target is £500 but obviously the more raised the better. This is an expensive project and every little helps.
