Pipkin undergoing construction project coordinator training with ABC WI

MADISON, Wis. - June 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Aryn Pipkin, Project Coordinator of Altius Building Company participated in a first of its kind training program for construction project coordinators through the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin.

The six-week program, which began April 26 at the ABC of Wisconsin Training Center in Madison, is designed for new and experienced project coordinators who want to elevate their knowledge and skills in construction project management. Participants will attend six full-day sessions during six consecutive Thursdays through the end of May.

"This is the only program of its kind in the country, as far as we know," said Wayne Belanger, director of education for ABC of Wisconsin. "This groundbreaking training program has been in development for more than a year with guidance from contractors, subcontractors and those who do the job. We're proud to offer this unique training opportunity for our members."

The program is taught by industry experts with a combined 95 years' experience in the construction industry, working with small and large general contractors, subcontractors in residential, commercial, and horizontal construction.

During the course, Pipkin gained:

·         Gained working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of typical members of the total construction project team.

·         Became familiar with job management concerns and techniques, including administrative and job site processes typically encountered in building construction.

·         Mastered typical terminology associated with the construction project coordinator role and practices.

·         Gained working knowledge necessary to be effective with other members of the total construction project team.

Pipkin has a Masters in Business Administration in Project Management from UW-Whitewater as well as a Masters in Science from UW-Social Work.  Her past experience has included project management experience at Harley-Davidson Motor Company as well as Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.  Pipkin has been with Altius Building Company for the past year.
