Gardener's Art Fest at The Growing Place in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - June 11, 2018 - PRLog -- Artist Elizabeth Murray once said, "Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas." On June 23, 2018, the Gardener's Art Fest at The Growing Place Garden Center in Naperville brings art and gardening together.

This year's theme "Enjoy! Gardening's Creative Canvas" combines the talents of 38 local artists, music, food, and the expertise of keynote speaker, Kris Bachtell, Vice President of Collections and Facilities at The Morton Arboretum. At 11am he'll introduce artistic trees, shrubs, and perennials from the 'Chicagoland Grows' program tested at The Arboretum. At 1pm, enjoy two artists as one paints and one teaches you what to think about when designing your own garden. Watch as a beautiful garden display becomes the subject for a beautiful impressionistic painting.

Rounding out the talk schedule, at 10am learn how to garden for birds, a piece of living art in the garden and at 12pm enjoy inspiration on how to make the most of a small garden space.

The Roaming Hog Food Truck will be onsite 11am-3pm, musician John Till will be performing 1-4pm, and Tuk Tuk Naperville will be shuttling visitors to the talks, artists and their cars from 9am-4pm.
