Follow on Google News | ![]() Mississauga Distinguished Toastmaster elected Club Growth Director, District 86 ToastmastersJocelyne Vezina to lead marketing, club growth and retention initiatives in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario
By: Toastmasters District 86 The annual elections were held during the 2018 District 86 Spring Conference in Mississauga, Ontario. Vezina will oversee the marketing of the Toastmasters brand across Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario and will lead club growth, club building and member- and club-retention strategies in over 230 clubs across the province. "Toastmasters has given me a lot," Vezina stated. "I want to give back by helping members reach their potential and by promoting Toastmasters to people who might not know its benefits." Vezina has tremendously improved the quality of Toastmaster Clubs in the district since she joined Toastmasters in 2009. She was the Vice President of 2 Toastmaster Clubs in 2010-2011 and was Club President from 2011-2012. She also held district roles including Area Governor 2011-12 and the Pathways Chief Ambassador from 2015-2018. Vezina and her team of Pathways Guides and Ambassadors were instrumental in helping over 5000 Toastmasters embrace Pathways, the new Toastmasters International Educational Curriculum. Vezina won the District 86 "2016-2017 Toastmaster of the Year" Award , the top district honour to the Toastmaster who best exemplifies Toastmasters International values in supporting the District mission. The District 86 Council elected other leaders for the 2018 – 2019 Toastmasters year including Distinguished Toastmasters Kristina Johnston, District 86 Director and Jacklyn Payne, Program Quality Director and 10 Division Directors.
