Win $2 million home or take $2 million in gold for only $5

The newly built two-storey, three-bedroom family home is 5km from Sydney's CBD, has two off street car parks and boasts city skyline views.

Sydney-siders set a  record in 2016 when an RSL Art Union $3.8 million prize home at Freshwater sold out early.

RSL Art Union general manager Tracey Bishop said the chance to own property in Sydney's housing market for the price of a cup of coffee was too good to pass by for many Australians who felt owning their own home was no longer achievable.

"With $1.7 million the median price for a home in Lilyfield in Sydney's inner west, there's no doubt that many people feel out-priced by the housing market," Ms Bishop said.

"Whoever wins this prize can expect to receive an estimated $62,000 a year if they decide to rent it out."

"It also has a back yard, which is a rare commodity in Sydney," Ms Bishop said.

Apart from the 165m² home, the winner will also receive $50,000 in gold bullion to spend as they wish, $5000 towards the first year of rates and water and more than $85,000 to cover transfer duty fees and legal costs.

"The winner would also have the option to take the entire value of the prize home - $2 million – in gold rather than keep the property," Ms Bishop said.

"That would be enough to take an all-inclusive, five-star holiday for three years, start a luxury car collection or pay off your existing mortgage and live debt-free.

"This is a genuine life-changing windfall for whoever wins this prize."
