LOS ANGELES - June 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Today National Selfie Day 2018 introduces the Lifesaver Selfie. Finally!!!

Did you say this was all a bad dream? How selfishness crept into our world and empathy went out the window? This year's National Selfie Day is going to start putting the ugly Genie back into the bottle. Just think, if a portion of the millions of selfish selfies daily became selfless, if they depicted gratitude and inspiration, inspired us to share our blessings not just count them… How much change could we effect in the world? If with each shared blessing people threw down some gratitude in the form of a couple of bucks – those millions of selfies everyday could turn into hundreds of millions of dollars for important causes.

Today, June 21, is National Selfie Day and a new launch by Csnaps.org (Charity Snaps). Csnaps is more than just a social media platform - it's where selfies go selfless. On Csnaps, anyone can take a Lifesaver Selfie. What's that? A Lifesaver Selfie is a photo with a celebrity or the celebrity in your life, thrown in with a little gratitude (a couple of bucks) for an important cause. Music legend Richie Sambora co-founded Csnaps, a humanitarian platform that uses fame and gratitude to turn anyone and everyone into a lifesaver to those suffering or in need.

The Lifesaver Selfie got its name from the fact that the fans that take their celebrity photos get to save a life by simultaneously donating to a charity with just a couple of bucks. The photo and their added story of inspiration about the moment or subject is then posted online to the Csnaps Gratitude Lounge, which hosts a compassionate community of followers who post, comment and do add-on donations to stories that truly moved them. The photo can also be shared and linked to other social media, letting everyone know of that lifesaving act. All of the monies from the post and inspired add-on donations all go to the charity of their choice, saving and changing lives. Csnaps is partnered with charities like Childhelp, SmileTrain, the ALS Association, PETA, Human Society and many others.

Celebrities can also post their story of inspiration with a photo called an Inspirie. They can then set a goal amount in dollars for their fans to help reach for their charity. "Using gratitude and fame to save lives is what Csnaps is all about" says Sambora. "I may not have much time in public but if fans have the Csnaps app we can save a life together in seconds and that's a bonded friend forever! If that's not something important, then I don't know what is"

According to Maurice Levy, CEO of Publicis, the famous selfie Ellen Degeneres snapped with her A-list friends at the 2014 Academy Awards would have reaped close to a billion dollars if sold. One selfless selfie can bring just as much, but only if fans and celebrities say "Lifesavers only".

Everyone can be a lifesaver. Let's all go from selfie to selfless with Csnaps. Join the unselfie revolution. Grab the free app at Csnaps.org.
