Traditional work flow being - visit to site, draft the design or models, begin construction, if conflicts arise, rework the model and back to construction again. Such a process becomes obsolete when we talk about walking with pace with which things are revolutionizing. When we undertake any renovation projects our first step becomes a visit to site and undertake the overall scanning of the building through 3D laser scanners which give us millions of data points, called as point cloud data. Our professional takes the shot or scans from multiple locations so that entire structure and its surroundings are covered. After completing the scanning process, the scanned data is then brought to our work place where the further process of registering the scanned data and creating BIM models begin. The basic registration that works for any software, depends upon the horsepower of the computer being used, software and the size of the scan. Our experienced team progresses with registering the data using the following steps:

1.       The software to create the BIM model is launched.

2.       The file containing point cloud data from the scanner is imported to this software.

3.       The imported file is Registered.

4.       Further using the software, as-built model is created of the site.

The overall task becomes more manageable with the registered point cloud data. But, one thing to note here is that dumping the entire point cloud data into any of the 3D modeling software won't be acceptable or possible. The basic reason for such a glitch is the size of the point cloud data file. We then use the software, which helps us segment the point cloud data into multiple smaller files. These files are more like bite-size pieces that becomes acceptable for any CAD modeling software, for creating point cloud to 3D model. This will only add more minutes to the overall work but make the overall process and further construction efficient and effective.
