The Transplantation Society Announces its New Council Positions for 2018-2020

MADRID - July 2, 2018 - PRLog -- The Transplantation Society (TTS) has announced the returning and newly elected officers and councilors for 2018-2020.

PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP

Mehmet Haberal (Turkey) M.D., FACS (Hon), FICS (Hon), FASA (Hon) has been elected to the position of President. He is currently the Governor and Turkey Representative of the ACS. He is also Founder and President of the Executive Supreme Board of Baskent University.

Marcelo Cantarovich (Canada) M.D. has been elected to the position of President-Elect of TTS. He is Professor of Medicine, Medical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, and Associate Director of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program.

Nancy Asher (U.S.) M.D., Ph.D.the current president will assume the role of Immediate Past President. She is currently Chair of the University of California (UCSF) Department of Surgery.

NEW COUNCILORS

Elmi Muller (South Africa) M.B., Ch.B., M.Med, has been elected to the position of Vice President.

Minnie Sarwal (U.S.) M.D., Ph.D., FRCP, DCH has been reelected to the position of Treasurer of TTS.

Mustafa Al-Mousawi has been elected to the position of Councilor (Middle East / Africa) of TTS.

Karen Dwyer (Australia) has been elected to the position of Councilor (Oceania) of TTS.

Maria Gerbase De Lima (Brazil) has been elected to the position of Councilor (Latin America) of TTS.

Megan Sykes (U.S.) has been elected to the position of Councilor (North America) of TTS.

Marti Manyalich Vidal (Spain) has been elected to the position of Councilor (Europe) of TTS.

John J. Fung (U.S.) M.D., Ph.D. has been re-elected to the position of Secretary of TTS.

Stefan G. Tullius (U.S.) M.D., Ph.D. has been re-elected to the position of Senior Treasurer of TTS.

Medhat Askar (U.S.) M.D., Ph.D. has been re-elected to the position of Councilor (North America) of TTS.

Steve J. Chadban (Australia) BMed(hons), Ph.D., FRACP has been re-elected to the position of Councilor (Oceania) of TTS.

Hiroto Egawa (Japan) M.D., Ph.D. has been re-elected to the position of Councilor (Asia) of TTS.

Peter J. Friend (United Kingdom) M.D., FRCS. has been re-elected to the position of Councilor (Europe) of TTS.

Gabriel E. Gondolesi (Argentina) M.D. has been re-elected to the position of Councilor (Latin America) of TTS.

Randall Morris (United States) M.D. has been re-elected to the position of Historian of TTS.
