Ron Marz To Judge Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival

BUFFALO, N.Y. - July 20, 2018 - PRLog -- Writer, editor, and creator Ron Marz will judge the Original Screenplay competition for Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival this year. The multi-genre event runs for one week, from Friday, Nov. 2nd - Thursday, Nov. 8th at the Dipson Theatres Eastern Hills Cinema, located in Williamsville, NY, a suburb of Buffalo. The festival, entering its sixth season, screens micro-shorts, shorts, short features, and feature films from around the world, with daily programming from noon to midnight.

Marz, who will judge the finalists in the Original Screenplay competition, has been writing comics for more than two decades, starting with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. He has worked for virtually every major publisher and compiled a long list of credits, including stints on Thor for Marvel, Green Lantern and Superboy for DC, and Star Wars for Dark Horse. Among his more recent work is his historic run on Witchblade for Top Cow/Image, the Skylanders series for IDW, John Carter: Warlord of Mars for Dynamite, and The Protectors from Athlitacomics. His creator-owned series include Dragon Prince at Top Cow; the historical adventure Samurai: Heaven and Earth; the science-fiction story Pantheon City at Dark Horse; and the vampire tale Shinku at Image. Marz and acclaimed artist Stjepan Sejic also have teamed for Ravine, a series of creator-owned fantasy graphic novels from Top Cow. Marz also serves as Editor-in-Chief for Ominous Press, where his writing credits include Dread Gods, Demi-God, and Beasts of the Black Hand.

Regular submissions for films and screenplays for Buffalo Dreams are open through July 1st via FilmFreeway and Withoutabox, and the Late Deadline is August 28th. The festival screens work in the following genres: action, animation, comedy, documentary, drama, fantasy, foreign, horror, science fiction, and thriller, with National, International and Western New York divisions.
