Follow on Google News | Drug Addiction Recovery Center Adds New ProgramA drug addiction recovery center that's expanding its services in the Mohawk Valley region has launched a new program to help those who don't have access to treatment.
By: Addiction Now The center offers professional outpatient services to adults, children, and families of the Utica and Rome region who have been struggling with substance use disorders or other mental health conditions. Their latest program gives people the chance to call 24/7 to get support and talk to a recovery advocate. The advocate provides callers with drug-related help until they can get into a program in a facility that is appropriate to treat them. Until those seeking help get treatment, the program allows them to meet with the recovery advocates — who have also been trained to use naloxone — in their homes or any place the callers may want. Anybody can call to learn about drug addiction treatment services available in the area for themselves or their loved ones. The open access program is among many of the initiatives made possible because of the investments that have been made by the state of New York to boost addiction treatment services and curb the impacts of the opioid epidemic. Earlier this year, New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced that several open access drug addiction treatment centers would be receiving funding from the state and the Neighborhood Center was one of the grantees. The center received $450,000, which has been used to recruit and train staff members as well as improve their mobile crisis assessment team and allow them to provide enhanced responses to calls made by the members of the community. The facility provides services to people regardless of their ability to pay. Discounted treatment plans are also offered depending on people's income levels and family sizes. https://www.drugaddictionnow.com/ End
