Gloriosa Superba is a species of  flowering plant in the family colchicaceae. Common names include flame lily, climbing lily, creeping lily, glory lily. It is called Langali in Sanskrit and Kalihari in  Ayurveda.. It is known as ulata chandala in Bengali and  Gujarati & hindi as bachnag and in Odia aba langalia etc.

It is an Ayurvedic  medicinal plant native to Indian forests.

Seeds contain high level of colchicines as well as tubars.

Indigenous Ayurvedic physicians  have been using for centuries as a natural therapy for abortion and it is also called Garbhaghatini ( destroyer of Garbha/Pregnancy).
