Follow on Google News | ![]() "End Family Fire" Gun Safety CampaignFree service has promoted safe firearm storage in North Texas since 2012
By: Gatling Gun Rescue(tm) Organizers say the term "Family Fire" was developed for this campaign and refers to a shooting involving an improperly stored or misused gun found in the home that results in death or injury. Incidents may include unintentional shootings, suicides, and other gun-related tragedies. "We are pleased to help spread the word about the need to secure firearms in the home to prevent access by children or other unauthorized persons," says Gatling founder Bob Wieland. Since 2012, Gatling has offered North Texans a confidential, free, safe, firearm removal and disposal service to help prevent such tragedies. Unlike gun buybacks or gun destruction campaigns, Gatling focuses on finding new homes for unwanted firearms. Gatling is not a business and does not maintain an office or storefront. Requests for gun pickups -- or more information about the service -- may be made on http://www.gatling.biz . A release about End Family Fire is at http://endfamilyfire.adcouncilkit.org/ End
