BALTIMORE - Aug. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- The Fuel Fund of Maryland proudly announces the appointment of Mel Brennan as Executive Director.  Brennan will assume his duties on August 13, 2018.  The Search Committee worked diligently to consider a talented pool of candidates, and the Board of Directors unanimously approved Brennan as the Fuel Fund's new Executive Director.

Brennan joins the Fuel Fund after serving as Senior Vice President of the YMCA in Ridgewood, NJ, where he was responsible for delivering leadership and strategy for the YMCA and its program departments. Previously he served in senior leadership positions at the Maryland Food Bank and the YMCA of Central Maryland.

"I'm honored to join the Fuel Fund of Maryland, and to provide creative leadership to helping to solve the long-standing challenges of providing affordable energy solutions for our most vulnerable Marylanders.  No household should have to choose between feeding their children or keeping the lights on, or taking life-saving medication and heating or cooling their home" said Brennan.

"We are thrilled to have a leader like Mel join the organization. His strong commitment and drive to serve the most vulnerable in our community will help lead the Fuel Fund of Maryland into our next chapter," said Jody Costa, Board Chair, Fuel Fund of Maryland.  "The Board of Directors and Staff are looking forward to our future with Mel, and welcome his leadership, creativity, and passion to help us grow our programs and become an industry leader for fuel funds nationwide," added Costa.
