Follow on Google News | Renowned Broadway, Ailey Dancers to Perform at That Which Connects:Camden's Festival of Dance Aug 18By: That Which Connects This year's festival brings together dance works produced by faculty and guest artists / dance companies, including performances by resident dance company, Introspective Movement Project. Says Sonia Pennington, the Executive Director, "What will be so phenomenal this year about THAT WHICH CONNECTS is it's incredibly diverse performances. There is a piece for every palate, a true celebration of the diversity in the dance community." There are several returning performers from last year and a number of new companies from New York, Philly, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. Performers include 10 Hairy Legs, Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Black Boys Dance Too, Putty Dance and Ballet Inc. "Lovers of dance are not always given a full "menu" of choices and rather have to pick to go see a ballet or broadway show or a contemporary company. Rarely are they able to come to one performance and see such an amazing range of diverse styles at such a professional level... tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet and contemporary all on one stage!", says Pennington. For the full list of performers, visit the website at http://www.thatwhichconnectscamden.com/ The summer intensive faculty include Christopher Figaro Jackson, former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre; current faculty of the Ailey School, former Philadanco dancer Jay Stanton; former Miss New Jersey and Rutgers alumna Vanessa Baker; Rutgers alumnae Alana Donato, Gina Montalto, and Camille Moten, who instructs at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
