PRLog -- It was inaugurated by Hon'ble Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee, former Chief Justice, Karnataka High Court as the Chief Guest along with Shri D.P.Tarenia, IPS, DG & IGP, SCRB, West Bengal as the Special Invitee for the programme. The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Dr. J.K.Das, Dean, Department of Law, Calcutta University, Prof. S.S.Chatterjee, Principal, Heritage Law College and Shri Probir Roy Director, Kalyan Bharti Trust. During the inaugural address, Prof. S.S.Chatterjee spoke about the various career opportunities Heritage Law College offers to its students. Dr. J.K.Das gave a brief description of how the subject legal studies came into India and how Calcutta University framed this integrated programme to give the best value additions to its students in various affiliated colleges. Shri H.K.Chaudhary spoke about the necessity of legal studies in School curriculum since everyone should know their constitutional rights and should be aware of them. Hon'ble Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee focused on the practical aspects of legal studies and told the students that law can be learned more through practical case studies in the court room rather than in the classrooms. He also gave them a practical approach to the subject while dealing with clients. Shri D.P.Tarenia appreciated the way Heritage have come up with variety of career oriented courses from cradle to career.
