When he was 14 years old, he learned music and art and then was sent to work on farms. He finished high school and hitchhiked east in 1968. His talent was discovered and he performed and wrote songs with well known musicians such as Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Buffy St Marie, Richie Havens, Bruce Springsteen, and read his poetry with Allen Ginsberg. On May 3, 2009, he helped produce and performed in the historical Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday Concert, at Madison Square Garden, presenting our Native American Indian Nations as guest speakers and performers. Today, this Grammy Award winner continues to sing, teach and exhibit his art in galleries, schools, universities, conferences, on some of his discoveries in science, on Native American Culture, and on the history of the Woodstock era. Today, he's now on the Native Board of Amerinda, the only Native American Indian Art's Council on the East Coast.
