RALEIGH, N.C. - Aug. 28, 2018 - PRLog -- Parks, owner of Organize for Success®, specializes in helping individuals and businesses be prepared for any emergency. As a small business owner, Parks knows that a business must keep going no matter what happens. Parks shared, "Although it can feel overwhelming to prepare for a natural disaster, or emergency, there are steps each of us can and should be taking to make sure we are ready. "

Here are a few of Emily's tips for making sure your business is prepared for any emergency:

1.   Establish from where employees, customers and vendors can obtain updates during an emergency situation, especially when and where team members need to return to work. Be sure to communicate the plan to each group.

2.   Verify all computer programs and data are being automatically updated as well as backed up from each team member's technology to a remote location.

3.   Visit www.ready.gov/build-a-kit  for what should be included in disaster supplies and, then, cull them together where they are easily accessible.

4.   Power outages are regularly a by-product of natural disaster, particularly when there are strong winds. Be sure you have cash, back-up batteries for all your mobile devices, flashlights to see without your lights and an emergency radio that supports multiple power sources.

5.   Decide how you will facilitate payroll if you are displaced, lose power or have intermittent Internet connectivity.
