JANESVILLE, Wis. - Aug. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- When Tragedy Strikes: Rebuilding Your Life with Hope and Healing after the Death of Your Child written by Janesville resident, Laura Diehl, is a top ten finalist for a 2018 Author Academy Award, an honor bestowed for literary merit and publishing excellence in the writing and publishing industry.

Diehl's book is up for an award in the Advice category, which offers other grieving parents the relief they need to be understood, and walks with them through the darkness, being the life-line of hope they need that it is possible to live beyond the death of their child.

"Hundreds of books from authors throughout the world are up for an Author Academy Award," said Kary Oberbrunner, founder of Author Academy Elite and the Author Academy Awards. "Our goal is to help further connect this global community of authors, maintain excellence and integrity of the book publishing industry, and raise awareness that the stories being told and the authors who write them are worth our attention."

Authors of all kinds—indie (self-published), traditional, or collaborative published—are considered for the award in one of sixteen categories. The finalists are being reviewed and evaluated on popular vote, social contribution, and overall presentation (cover, content, flow, and originality) by the Academy's voting membership comprised of best-selling authors, literary agents and industry leaders.

Diehl, along with her husband, are serious about helping other grieving parents after personally experiencing the death of their oldest daughter, as they are in the process of selling their home and living full-time in a motor home. They plan on pulling out in October, traveling full time for their ministry Grieving Parents Sharing Hope (GPS Hope). www.gpshope.org

If interested in supporting Diehl as an author and participating in the popular vote portion of the award evaluation, go to http://authoracademyawards.com/ and scroll to the "Ready to Vote?" section. Once there, click through to the Advice category, then find and click on When Tragedy Strikes.
