Candle Light Cove 'Grillin for Grandparents' event to raise awareness of Alzheimer's

EASTON, Md. - Aug. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- For a second straight year, Candle Light Cove will host "Grillin' for Grandparents," a multi-generational event held in honor of National Grandparents Day.

      "Grillin' for Grandparents" will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the senior living community at 106 West Earle Avenue. National Grandparents Day will be observed a day later.

    The outdoor event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission is free, though donations will be accepted. RSVP at 410.770.9707 or clcreception@integracare.com.

    "Grillin' for Grandparents provides us an opportunity to bring multiple generations together to share in some excellent food, good conversation and enjoyable times," said Bob Scheele, Executive Director at Candle Light Cove. "Ultimately, our goal is to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

    "Of course, we also want to honor all of the grandparents who are residents of Candle Light Cove as well as any grandparent who attends," Scheele said. "We also will feature a dance presentation at 1 p.m., which will add to the festivities."

    The "Grillin' for Grandparents" event will feature a variety of foods and funnel cakes in the theme of a late-summer, family-style cookout.

    "There will be a wide variety of fun, educational and community-oriented activities," Scheele said. "This truly will be a multi-generational gathering."
