Fashion Comes To Harlem Kicking Off New York Fashion Week

NEW YORK - Sept. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Harlem Fashion Week will honor Fashion editor and content curator Constance White, whose book How To Slay, has been one of the country's most-talked about style books this year. Harlem Fashion Week will take place during New York Fashion week, the seasonal fashion shows taking place throughout the city from September 6-15.

Published by Rizzoli, How To Slay, traces the impact of Black style in fashion through text by Ms. White, a noted style expert and fashion journalist, and images curated by the author from some of the world's most celebrated photographers.

Rihanna, Beyoncé, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Allen Iverson and Rae Sremmurd are just a few of the style influencers featured in the book.

Harlem Fashion Week, is in its 5^th edition, is celebrating and providing a platform for emerging designers and other industry professionals. This year includes more than four days of events which comprise the gala on Thursday when Ms. White will be honored, fashion shows, press conferences and educational symposiums.

The founders of Harlem Fashion Week are the Powerhouse mother-daughter team of Tandra Birkett and Yvonne Jewnell, owners of the fashion design company Yvonne Jewnell New York LLC. Harlem Fashion Week will be an explosion of culture that will bridge the Downtown fashion hub to the Uptown vibe.
