Family Style Farm-To-Fork Long Table Dinner Series at The Abbey Resort

FONTANA, Wis. - Sept. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- The first event as part of The Abbey Resort's new Long Table Dinner Series will be held outside on the beautiful Harbor Lawn on Friday, October 12 at 6 p.m. Diners will enjoy a four-course gourmet meal served family style with perfectly paired Fess Parker wines hand-selected by Spencer Shull, the grandson of Fess Parker himself. In addition to the gourmet menu and award-winning wines, attendees will enjoy lively conversation with friends new and old and pristine views of Lake Geneva with the newly renovated Abbey Harbor setting the backdrop for the evening.

The resort's Executive Chef Joshua North has prepared a menu for the first event in the series of Long Table Dinners featuring locally-sourced dishes with produce and products such as hen from Yuppie Hill Farm in Burlington, Wis., suckling pig from Maple Creek Farm in Waukesha, Wis., local baby beets with an 18-year balsamic pistachio butter, braised pink lady apples and swiss chard, sweet potato and stewed white beans, and peaches with hand crafted artisan chocolate from Ethereal Confections in Woodstock, Ill. Additional Long Table Dinner events are scheduled for Friday, January 12 and Friday, March 23, both to be held inside The Abbey Resort within Porto, the resort's iconic A-frame. Dinner menus for the January and March events will be developed based on local produce available at the time of the event.

Overnight guests of The Abbey Resort may continue the celebration the following day in Immersion Cinema, when Old Yeller, which features Fess Parker, will be shown on the Immersion Cinema large screen. Snacks and drinks, including Fess Parker wines, will be available in the Immersion Café.

Both overnight guests and members of the general public are welcome to attend this special dinner event.
