Lewis Parks Hosts Inaugural Lure for a Cure Fundraiser in Buckhead

ATLANTA - Sept. 18, 2018 - PRLog -- Fayetteville native, Lewis Parks, is proud to host the inaugural Lure for a Cure fundraiser on Thursday, September 27 at The Ivy Buckhead. Lure for a Cure's mission is to highlight various causes to help increase awareness and raise money in support.

This kickoff event focuses on raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research as we head into Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Parks is passionate about creating spaces that facilitate conversations among everyday people. Lure for a Cure exists to increase education in local communities by dispelling myths and decreasing misinformation.

"In 2018, an estimated 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S.* It is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in women and has one of the highest death rates," Parks noted. "It doesn't discriminate based on race or age and I just want to do my part to support conversations and fundraising efforts around eliminating this disease that effects so many."

Lure for a Cure is excited to partner with Legend Apparel Company and have owner Anuj Thakkar emcee a panel discussion featuring Julia Eze aka @thenursejulia, Dr. Gina Gonzalez Johnson, and breast cancer survivors Tiah Tomlin and Courtney Akel. The evening will also feature signature pink cocktails sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, heavy hors d'oeuvres & even a little shopping – local Atlanta sports memorabilia will be on display and for sale with a portion of proceeds going back to support breast cancer research.

Lewis Parks, named one of Jezebel Magazine's "2017 Most Eligible Atlantans" and recent contestant on Fox's "Love Connection", is a 30-year-old young professional in the medical sales industry. He chose to highlight breast cancer as his first Lure for a Cure cause after watching his aunt battle the disease.
