Wendy Raquel Robinson Hosts, Angie Stone Performs, Africans Merge at 2nd HAPAwards

FONTANA, Calif. - Sept. 25, 2018 - PRLog -- The Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards) returns to Glendale, Ca. at the Alex Theater with "Key to the City" presented, certified and endorsed by Mayor Vartan Gharppetian at its epic first year royal launch in 2017.  Countries merged with the affluent of Western influencers; American and African Community Leaders, International Political Figures, Dignitaries and Celebrities as they successfully celebrated the best of entertainers from two cultures.

Produced by Founder and Executive Producer Ms. Tina Weisinger of I Dream 4 All Foundation, this visionary continues to raise the bar creating synergies and bridging gaps with both cultures by recognizing pioneers in the movies, music and comedy industries.

HAPAwards, again, will celebrate outstanding achievements of artists from various entertainment genres with the vision to continuously blend the richness of African cultures and the beauty of America to promote world peace for an entire weekend.  The events promise to showcase the best of both worlds right in the heart of Hollywood with performances, recognitions and spotlight achievements of actors, musicians, comedians, dignitaries, fashionistas and community leaders across the globe.

The HAPAwards weekend begins with a music and fashion extravaganza showcasing both cultures' talents.  It takes place on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Pierre Garden & Banquet Hall located at 145 North Maryland Avenue, Glendale, CA 91206.  This production IS FREE with a minimum donation of $10 or more at the door.

The HAPAwards takes place Sunday, September 30, 2018.  The theme for HAPAwards 2018 – Celebration of The African Heritage will focus on promoting the historical contributions from different cultures in Africa to the development of American Civilization over the years. Its vision is to enable all of mankind to see themselves as one regardless of race, color or geographic location, and created to share peace and love abundantly.

This year's show Host is the beautiful and multitalented actress, Wendy Raquel Robinson. Honorees include Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi; American Star Actor, Todd Bridges ("Diff'rent Strokes" "Everyone Hates Chris"); Photography and Music Legend Lamonte McLemore (5^th Dimension), and International Business Entrepreneur, Rasaq Gbadamosi; to mention a few. Performers include the sultry R&B Legend Angie Stone, Crenshaw High School Marching Band and an array of International performers from almost every African country on the globe.

Recently, at its 2018 Nominee Announcement Party, Hapawards announced nominees and honorees to include a parade of American and African music superstars like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Cardi B, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, CeCe Winans, Diamond Platinum, Fally Ipupa, Jay Z, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Vanessa Mdee, Mary J Blige, Mz Vee, and Rock and Roll Legend Charles Wrights ("Express Yourself"). While the fashion category has Rosie Assoulin, Giambattista Valli, Parker XL and Betty Fashion.

For the film category, movies like Mudbound, Detroit,  Amazing Grace, Virgins in The forest, A Day of Trouble, Wind River, Last Flag Flying, Mon Coeur Saiggne and Deepest Cut were nominated. Also, Danielle Brooks, Dwayne Johnson, Princess Adekoya, Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson were selected from the world of comedy.

Nollywood Mega Star Oghenekaro Itene was announced as the Official Ambassador representing the African diaspora along with TV Ones' "Unsung" iconic R&B Historian Tyrone DuBose as presenter and the shows' Broadcast Announcer.
