Workshop on Therapeutic Storytelling with Susan Perrow to be held in Cleveland Heights

CLEVELAND - Oct. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Stories and storytelling are an integral part of our humanity. In this workshop, participants will be helped to find the 'storyteller' within. Examples, ideas and techniques for writing healing ('medicinal') stories will be shared and the therapeutic use of metaphor explored.  With the support of a story-making framework, and several creative writing exercises, the participants will be guided to create their own stories; for themselves and/or their families - stories to give hope, stories to help find a way forward, stories to build resilience in difficult times.

This event is offered by Babies Need Boxes Ohio and will focus on supporting women during the postpartum transition period.

SUSAN PERROW (M. ED) is a writer, storyteller, teacher trainer and parent educator.  Today her time is spent writing, consulting with teachers, parents and therapists, and running workshops on therapeutic story-writing, helping participants to write stories for their family members, students, clients and/or themselves. She travels internationally - from China to Africa, Europe to America and across her own sun-drenched land of Australia.  Her three resource books, 'Healing Stories for Challenging Behaviour', 'Therapeutic Storytelling' and 'An A-Z Collection of Behaviour Tales' have been translated into many languages, including Mandarin, Korean, Croatian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian and Serbian.For workshop testimonials and book information, refer to www.susanperrow.com

The cost is $60 - tea, lunch will be served and materials distributed.  Additionally, there are scholarships available.
